‘The Badger’ to screen at Five Lakes Film Festival

Iranian movie ‘The Badger’ is slated to vie at the Five Lakes Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Kazem Mollaee, the film will be screened at the Best Section of 15th edition of the event.

The movie narrates the story of a 40-year-old woman, played by Vishka Asayesh, who is facing a difficult challenge in her private life.

Soudeh’s 11-year-old son, Matiar, gets kidnapped as she is about to start a second marriage. After considerable search and effort, Soudeh decides to ask for the ransom money from her ex-husband, Peyman. How much will this incident challenge her certainties?

“Since 2007, the Five Lakes Film Festival has been taking place in one of Germany's most beautiful regions in the Fünfseenland in the south of Munich.

The festival focuses on feature, documentary and short films from Central Europe with a focus on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol, the promotion of young filmmakers and the anchoring of contemporary films in film history (Guests of Honour) and in society (Horizons Section),” the official website of the event wrote.

This year’s edition of the event is slated for August 18-31.
